Rules of Parliamentary Procedure

Pursuant to Article IV, Section 11 of the IAFF Constitution and By-Laws, local, state and provincial affiliates may use either “Robert’s Rules of Order” or “Atwood’s Rules for Meetings” to govern their deliberations. The International’s Executive Board and the IAFF Convention use “Robert’s Rules of Order, Second Revised Edition,” by Mary A. DeVries.

“Atwood's Rules for Meetings” is available through the IAFF. “Robert’s Rules of Order” can be purchased at most bookstores.

June 20, 2011 - Our next two-shift Union Meeting will be June 27 & 28, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The meetings will be held at Mid-Town Plaza, 330 West Gray Street, Lower level, conference room. (You must be present to win the $50 Door Prize.)

  1. Discuss and possibly take action on requiring all committees to submit minutes in digital form to the IAFF Local 2067 Sec/Treasurer for record keeping. The Sec/ Treasurer will hold all such records, and keep all such records available for review on the Union Website and provide such records to members upon request, if needed, in a suitable form.

  2. Discuss and possibly take action on forming a Committee to bring back thoughts or ideas on the distribution of Tuition Assistance money.
    • Motion for Executive Board to bring plan of equal distribution of Tuition Assistance Money to next Union Meeting.

  3. Discuss and possibly take action on the act of purchasing televisions and grills for fire stations. 
    • Motion to replace original television at fire stations with a maximum of $500 and to replace original grills with a maximum of $150, subject to Donation Committee approval.

  4. Discuss and possibly take action on the 2012 OSFA Convention to be held in Norman.

  5. Discuss and possibly take action on making a donation to the PFFO for Legislative work.
    • Motion to provide PFFO a PAC Fund check for $1500 for Legislative work at the State Capital.

  7. Discuss and possibly take action on contract language increasing vacation hours.
    • Motion for the Negotiation Team to negotiate for an increase in the accrual of vacation hours for a 20 year Firefighter to 24 hours a month and increase the cap to 700 hours.

  8. Discuss and possibly take action on the City of Norman Job Announcements and Qualifications.

    Motion for Negotiation Team to add an eligibility requirement of having to be a Captain for at least a day to the position of Fire Training Officer.

  11. Discuss and possibly take action on contract language in Article 15, Section 5 & 6.
    Motion for Negotiation team to negotiate to include contract language in Article 15, Section 5 to include 3 more people to the interview panel for Assistant Chief, Fire Marshal, and Fire Training Officer. One member selected by the Fire Chief, one member selected by the Union, and the Human Resources Director or designee with merit given to the candidates resume and personnel file using a point scale system.
